Tsoknyi Rinpoche held the first initial retreat considering the matter of devotion this summer in Crestone, Colorado. Krishna Das attended with musicians from his band–tabla player Arjuna and bass player Patrick Hammond–supplementing the retreat with juicy devotional kirtan (call and response) chants throughout the week.

Lama Tashi also taught during the retreat and shared Neem Karoli Baba leelas with Krishna Das during a special afternoon event.

After kora with Rinpoche, retreatants walked to the newly built Dorje Yudronma shrine where Rinpoche blessed and dedicated it, and everyone made offerings.

The exquisite Dorje Yudronma statue arrived in Crestone after retreats were over and will be installed and dedicated next year. Finish work on the shrine and grounds is ongoing and should be complete for next year’s retreat season.
